Cultivate Calm with the power of Sound Healing + Restorative Yoga
You know when you’re favorite song comes on the radio - maybe you start to move and groove a little or it brings a smile to your face? That’s the power of sound. Not only is there a strong emotional connection but there’s a vibrational quality that we’re attracted to that evokes a spiritual state of awareness too.
When we start to explore the power of vibration and sound itself, we begin to see the forces at play that can greatly enhance the power of one’s practice. Such is the underlying philosophy of sound healing, or vibrational therapy. Sound Therapy is not new, it has often been used within yogic practices such as mantra and chanting, in fact there is even a path of yoga dedicated to sound, called NADA YOGA; exploring one’s consciousness through the power of sound such as music, tone and the art of listening. The philosophical practice is based on the premise that the entire cosmos and all that exists within it, including human beings, are made up of vibrations, called nāda.
An accostic sound healing journey, SOUND BATHS relax the body, calm the mind, activate the body’s natural healing processes while also clearing the subconscious.
Sound Baths are known to do the following:
Promote better sleep and improve insomnia
Reduce stress + anxiety
Lower blood pressure
Focuses attention
Balances emotions
Sound Practitioners use a variety of instruments to create a variety of vibrational energy, these include Tibetan singing bowls, koshi chimes, drums, rain sticks, crystal bowls and even gongs! What’s surprising is that the sound itself doesn’t need to be loud to work its wonders…it’s the vibration that matters!
We offer Sound Baths alongside our Yin, Flow + Pregnancy yoga classes to enhance the experience of stillness through the power of sound, a soothing but powerful practice that can be enjoyed by yogis and non-yogis alike!
